♣ Can I Have a Hall Pass?
Saturday, February 26, 2011 || 4:00 PM

First and foremost, woot is now in Merriam-Webster's online dictionary and won word of the year. According to Merriam, woot is defined as, expressing joy and similar to 'yay'. I'm surprised woot hasn't made it into the print version, considering how common the word has become.

Yesterday I saw Hall Pass! The basis of the film follows two average men, Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis, who get a Hall Pass-a week off from marriage. Their wives, Jenna Fischer and Christina Applegate, spend the week at Cap Cod, while the posse of Owen and Justin follow the guys around. Lots of wicked chaos ensues.

I would recommend this film for anyone seventeen plus, if only because anyone younger wouldn't understand a lot of the jokes or may be uncomfortable seeing nudity in a theater. They would probably also complain about the film following middle aged adults.

I admit, I had my doubts. I honestly thought the film would end up a near porno (note: Hot Tub Time Machine), but they did a fine job of stopping and extending the right moments to create a hilarious movie. There are some down parts, namely toward the end, that seem a bit too random, but overall, I enjoyed myself to the point of laughing to tears.

♣ Tangled up in your love.
Saturday, January 1, 2011 || 5:34 PM

On Thursday, I went and saw Tangled with my niece, sister, sister's friend, and her little brother. We had originally planned on going early in the morning, but Aby's (my sister's friend) car broke down so we had to wait. Anyway, Tangled turned out to be pretty good.

As with most Disney movies, my attention was kept throughout the entire movie, but there were some parts that seemed meant only for small kids. It's a shame, because Disney has consistently made movies where all ages are entertained and not just little kids. That is, after all, the magic of Disney.

I enjoyed the plot for the entirety, though the spacing could have been a bit better with the falling in love portion. Only a day goes by and already she's falling completely in love with Flynn. Nonetheless, the film was full of wonderful songs, art, and special moments I'm sure everyone cannot forget.

Overall, I give the movie

♣ paranormal activity 2: spoilers ahead!
Sunday, October 24, 2010 || 12:08 PM

yesterday, i went and saw paranormal activity 2. i thought it was going to suck, much like the first one, but i must say, pa2 was pretty good. obviously, it had some holes, like why the demon was actually there and what happened to the nanny at the end. the movie sort of dragged in some places, but i like how most was shown through the security cameras, but some of the handheld was interesting. overall, i think a good job was done in not using obvious scare techniques.

by far, my favorite part was in the basement. i liked how the entire setup was and when they showed what the demon-possessed-mother looked like. however, i was let down when they didn't continue the demon-esque appearance, especially when the sister from the first movie came back to steal the baby.

in the end, i give the film an 8/10.

nothing super interesting happened to day. D: i did nothing in first & second block as usual. we started the first few steps in decorating our small heart cakes. i'm making a halloween themed one for the party on the 30th~ it's flipped upside down with a pumpkin on one side and a graveyard on the other. it's going to be dark purple and AWESOME! i'm super excited to start them. we had a sub in japanese and watched sumo do, sumo don't. シコふんじゃった it's about a college sumo team who suck, but with determination after seeing their sensei's feelings about the sport, they try to win the tournament. it's actually really funny but serious at the same time. it also features naoto takenaka, one of my favorite japanese actors.

make me immortal with a kiss

This space is for your profile. Mmm, perhaps you can tell them how you have a BAD HAIR DAY every other day, how your best friend started to talk like a Valley Girl, how you wished art ought to be banned from school, or you'd wish to have a mom as cool as LADY GAGA. You'd go to school in a bubble dress, and strut down the hallways as the basketball hotties gawk at how awesome you look. Make your profile as lame, unrealistic, stupid as you want. You can even say you're friends with a fat, immature man who lives on the rooftop of your house. Who claims he's the greatest at everything. It's YOUR blog, and tell them their criticism would be so not welcome.
